About
This application is used by Permanent Residents whose status is designated as CONDITIONAL and needs to replace an existing 2-year Permanent Resident Card. The expiration date on a Conditional Resident Card is also the date of the second anniversary as a Conditional Permanent Resident.
A Conditional Permanent Resident Card CANNOT be renewed. If your Conditional Permanent Resident status is within 90 days of expiration, you MUST submit Form I-751, Petition to Remove Conditions on Residence, to remove all conditions on a Green Card obtained through marriage.
*** If your child received Conditional Permanent Resident status at the same time you did, or within 90 days of when you did, then you may include your child in your application. Your child must file a separate application if they received conditional permanent resident status more than 90 days after you did.
If you fail to apply to Remove the Conditions in time, you could lose your Conditional Permanent Resident status and be removed from the United States.
Without a valid Permanent Resident Card, it may be difficult for you to prove that you are a Lawful Permanent Resident and could affect your ability to travel or to prove your authorization to live and work in the United States.
This application will also be used to replace or renew a Permanent Resident (10 Year) green card.
You should file Form I-90 to renew your Permanent Resident Card if you were issued a card valid for 10 years that has either expired or will expire within the next 6 months.
Also, if you became a permanent resident before you turned 14 years old, you are required to replace your card when you become 14 years old. If you file Form I-90 within 30 days before or after turning 14, AND your existing card will expire AFTER your 16th birthday, only an $85 biometric fee will be required for the application to be accepted—no further filing fee is required.
The USCIS filing fee for Form I-90, Application to Replace Permanent Resident Card is $455 + $85 biometrics service fee = $540. Also add $85.00 biometrics service fee for each child applying with the parent to remove their conditions. (See exceptions below).
Exceptions: If your previous card was issued but never received, the filing fee is $0. If your existing card has incorrect data because of USCIS error, the filing fee is $0.
